The processing raw material of carbon fiber board is carbon fiber prepreg, which can be divided into 12k, 6k, 3k and 1k according to different tows. Usually, 3k tows are used more. The production process of the entire carbon fiber board should be to cut the prepreg first, then lay up, then solidify, then cut, and follow-up processing.
The first step is to cut the prepreg.
We need to determine the thickness of the prepreg we need according to the size and thickness of the carbon fiber sheet, and then cut the prepreg. The thicker the carbon fiber board, the more layers of carbon fiber prepreg are required. The normal 5-layer carbon fiber prepreg can be made into a 1mm carbon fiber board, and the utilization rate is maximized during the cutting process.
The second step is to lay the prepreg.
The order of laying is also very critical, and it cannot be laid at will. If the laying order is improper, it will have a bad influence on the initial load, fracture toughness, and expansion rate. The laying direction can be set with reference to the main direction of the load, usually laying at these three angles, 0 degrees, plus or minus 45 degrees, and 90 degrees. If the load situation is more complicated, 0 degrees, plus or minus 45 degrees, and 90 degrees can be mixed and laid in multiple directions.
The third step is to cure the prepreg.
After the carbon fiber prepreg of the carbon fiber board is cut and laid in the early stage, the latter process can be carried out – pressure heating and curing. Put the laminated prepreg into a professional curing mold to set the temperature, and then heat and pressurize it. After reaching a certain degree of curing, it can be taken out and finally cured.
The fourth step is to process the plate.
After the carbon fiber board is cured and formed, it is processed and cut into different sizes for assembly needs. In the process of processing carbon fiber board, the final rendering effect is also different according to the tools of different materials and shapes. Therefore, it is necessary to select the appropriate tool for processing and cutting according to the actual needs.
