1. The resin state and chemical properties used in carbon fiber prepreg should meet the specific requirements of the product object
The curing temperature of the resin is very important. Temperature requirements, corresponding durability, weather resistance, mechanical properties, etc. all need to be met one by one. In addition, regarding the production process conditions of carbon fiber prepreg, it is also necessary to pay attention to characteristics such as curing time and curing temperature.
2. The resin outflow, viscosity, and repairability during storage should meet the requirements.
Carbon fiber prepreg resin requires a certain viscosity so that it can be fully bonded during the layup process, and it must also ensure that the resin cannot flow out during storage, causing the prepreg to lose glue and reduce the overall performance of the carbon fiber prepreg.
3. The fiber arrangement within the carbon fiber prepreg must be aligned and uniform.
It is required that the alignment deviation of carbon fiber within 1 meter cannot exceed 0.5cm, and the deviation of edge carbon fiber within 1 meter cannot exceed 0.1cm.
4. Uniform resin content
The resin content per unit area is the basic reference point for carbon fiber prepreg selection. It is generally required that the resin content tolerance is within ±2%, and the resin content deviation of non-adhesive prepregs is controlled within ±1%, thereby ensuring the stability and uniformity of the carbon fiber volume content and mechanical properties in the composite material.
5. Volatile content should be low
Generally, the volatile content is required to be less than 2%, and the volatile content of prepregs used to manufacture main load-bearing components should be controlled below 0.8%. Because the higher the volatile content, it will volatilize during the curing process and cause voids inside the composite material, thus affecting the final mechanical properties of the composite parts.
