The thickness of a carbon fiber prepreg is about 0.2mm, so the thickness of the thinnest carbon fiber plate is also 0.2mm. The performance stability of thicker carbon fiber panels can be improved by adjusting the ply direction and quantity of prepreg.

Therefore, laying 5 layers of carbon fiber prepreg can produce a 1 mm carbon fiber board, and the different laying angles of the prepreg will make the performance of the carbon fiber board different.

2. Will the 1mm thin plate be easily broken?

 Perhaps in our impression, the thickness of 1mm is considered very thin, so we think that the carbon fiber plate with a thickness of 1mm will not stand the test and will break during use.

          In fact, otherwise, qualified carbon fiber boards, even with a thickness of 1mm, have very good strength performance. Although the hardness of the carbon fiber plate itself is not high, it has excellent specific strength and specific modulus. A 1mm carbon fiber plate can even be bent to 180°, but it cannot be folded.

           The performance of the carbon fiber plate is mainly reflected in the direction of the fiber, but it is relatively fragile perpendicular to the direction of the fiber, which is why the shear strength of the carbon fiber plate is not high. If a 1mm carbon fiber plate is forcibly folded, it will break at the bend, because the external force has exceeded its own limit
