Carbon fiber prepreg is the processing raw material of carbon fiber board. The production process of carbon fiber board includes cutting, laying up, curing, cutting and post-processing of carbon fiber prepreg.
1. Cutting of prepreg:
First, wewill cut the prepreg according to the length and width of the carbon fiber sheet, and determine the required thickness of the prepreg according to the thickness of the sheet.FUTURE has many years of rich experience in the production of carbon fiber sheets, and can customize carbon fiber sheets of different thicknesses according to customer needs. , 6.0mm, 10.0mm, 20mm, etc.
The thicker the plate thickness, the more layers of carbon fiber prepreg are needed. Designers will optimize the design before cutting, which can improve the utilization rate of prepregs and reduce the generation of allowances, thereby helping customers reduce production costs.
2. Lay-up of prepreg:
The difference in the layup sequence will not only affect the matrix crack initiation load, growth rate, and fracture toughness, but also significantly affect matrix crack saturation and crack density. For example, for orthogonal laminates, there is a corresponding relationship between fracture toughness and crack growth rate under the same applied load. Therefore, it is necessary for technicians to determine the layup direction and layup sequence of the prepreg according to the requirements of the sheet for tensile force, shear force and strength. Give full play to the advantages of carbon fiber composite materials.
The prepreg laying direction should be set according to the main direction of the load, and the laying direction includes 0°,±45°, and 90°. In the state of shear stress, the layup with an angle of 0°corresponds to normal stress, the layup with an angle of±45°corresponds to shear stress, and the layup with an angle of 90°is used to ensure that the carbon fiber product has sufficient positive pressure in the radial direction. If the load borne by the carbon fiber board is mainly tensile and compressive load, then the direction of the layup should be selected in the direction of the tensile and compressive load; if the load borne by the carbon fiber board is mainly shear load, then the layup should be in pairs of±45°Laying is the main method; if the load condition of the carbon fiber board is complex and includes multiple loads at the same time, the layup design is mixed in multiple directions of 0°,±45°, and 90°.
3. Curing of prepreg:
After the carbon fiber prepreg is cut and laid in an orderly manner, it will enter the heating and pressure curing process. The laminated prepreg is placed in a mold with a set temperature, heated and pressed, the mold is closed, the laminate is gradually cured under hot pressing and reaches a certain degree of curing, the mold is opened, and is pulled by the pulling device, leaving the heat. Press the mold to complete the curing.
During the entire curing process, it is necessary to adjust the heating and pressurizing time according to the different needs of the carbon fiber board. Different temperatures and heating times will affect the material properties of carbon fiber sheets. In the actual production process, under the premise of maintaining dimensional stability in the post-curing stage of the parts, the time of the hot pressing stage should be shortened as much as possible.
4. Post-processing of plates
After the carbon fiber board is cured and formed, it needs to be cut, drilled and other post-processing for precision requirements or assembly needs. Under the same conditions of cutting process parameters, cutting depth, etc., selecting tools and drills of different materials, sizes and shapes will have very different effects. At the same time, factors such as the strength, direction, time and temperature of the tools and drills will also affect the processing results.
In the post-processing process, try to choose a sharp tool with diamond coating and a solid carbide drill bit. The wear resistance of the tool and the drill bit itself determines the quality of processing and the service life of the tool. If the tool and drill bit are not sharp enough or used improperly, it will not only accelerate the wear and tear, increase the processing cost of the product, but also cause damage to the plate, affecting the shape and size of the plate and the stability of the dimensions of the holes and grooves on the plate. Causes layered tearing of the material, or even block collapse, resulting in the scrapping of the entire board.
