In medical X-ray diagnostic equipment, the part where the patient lies horizontally is called the "bed board". The selection of the medical bed board must not only consider the load-bearing, but also the attenuation of X-ray rays. Traditional medical bed boards mostly use materials such as phenolic resin boards and aluminum plates, which have poor mechanical properties, low radiographic transmittance, and insufficient imaging clarity. Compared with traditional medical bed board materials, carbon fiber reinforced composite materials (Carbon Fiber Reinforced Polymer/Plastic) , has the advantages of large elastic modulus, high strength coefficient and extended instrument service life. What is important is that the carbon fiber composite medical bed board has high X-ray transmittance, which can reduce the radiation damage of X-rays to patients. Carbon fiber composite materials are composed of carbon fiber and resin. The former is a reinforcing material and mainly plays a load-bearing role. The latter is a matrix material to support the carbon fiber and transfer external loads to it. Typically, high-standard medical equipment places great emphasis on the quality, hygiene, reliability and precision of the raw materials used. Medical equipment made of carbon fiber composite materials has the characteristics of light weight, high stability, high strength and fracture resistance.

The degree of intensity attenuation or absorption of X-ray rays after penetrating a material is related to the composition, density and thickness of the material. For carbon fiber composite materials, the elemental composition of resin is C, H, and O, and the elemental composition of carbon fiber is C. The X-ray mass absorption coefficient is very small, much lower than that of ordinary materials. The aluminum equivalent of carbon fiber composites is 0.11, and the aluminum equivalent of carbon fiber composite foam sandwich structures is 0.52. The X-ray transmission performance is better than traditional medical materials such as phenolic resin plates and aluminum plates, and carbon fiber composites allow rays to be irradiated at any angle. on the bed board without causing refraction.

The requirements for various indicators of carbon fiber composite bed boards used for medical devices are very high. The production process must be carried out in a clean room. The surface of the board must be smooth and free of defects and impurities. The thickness tolerance must be kept within ±0.03mm. After the above process The light transmittance of the produced carbon fiber composite bed board can reach 98%, the total loss is less than 1/6 of the aluminum board, and the weight is also lighter. Only in this way can the products produced meet the standards for use of medical devices.
