Carbon Fiber Polishing Process
Polishing refers to the use of mechanical, chemical, or electrochemical methods to reduce the roughness of the surface of the workpiece, to obtain a bright and smooth surface. Polishing is usually done with a buffing wheel made of canvas, felt, or leather, but it can also be polished with steel balls, lime, fur, etc., or chemically. So for carbon fiber boards, what polishing method is used?
For carbon fiber composite panels, a cast iron disc or a polishing wheel with less fluff can be used for rough polishing. The polishing surface of the carbon fiber plate needs to be parallel to the polishing disc or polishing wheel, and it should be stable and maintain a balanced force with the polishing disc. When polishing, pay attention not to use too much pressure, move slowly from the center to the edge, and gradually move from the edge to the center at the end, and the pressure should gradually decrease. The humidity of the polishing disc will have a great influence on the quality of the surface of the carbon fiber plate. When performing rough polishing, it is necessary to add water to cool it. It is best to keep the water film on the surface of the carbon fiber plate evaporated within 1-5 seconds after polishing. The polishing time can be Controlled in 2-5min. The qualified mark of carbon fiber plate polishing is that all scratches on the surface disappear. After polishing, it can be cleaned with water or a solution containing cleaning agent.
