What is carbon fiber?

      Carbon fiber is a high-strength and high-modulus fiber with a carbon content of more than 90%, and a continuous fiber material composed of stable continuous carbon molecules in a layered structure. It is made of acrylic fiber and viscose fiber as raw materials, which are oxidized and carbonized at high temperature.

         A carbon fiber with a thickness of 1/10 of a human hair can have a tensile strength of 7-9 times that of steel, and its specific gravity is only 1/4 of that of steel.The carbon fiber production process is divided into four steps: polymerization, spinning, pre-oxidation, and carbonization. The downstream application of carbon fiber requires not only composite materials, but also weaving, prepreg, winding, pultrusion, molding, RTM (resin transfer molding), autoclave and other processes. , carbon-based, ceramic-based, metal-based.

1. Carbon fiber specifications

      1k, 3k, 6k, 12k and 24k large tow carbon fiber cloth, 1k refers to 1000 carbon fiber weaving.

2.Carbon Fiber Tensile Modulus

      Tensile modulus refers to the weight per square meter that a fiber can withstand before breaking, and reflects a level of stiffness and how well the fiber stretches under a certain pressure. Modulus scale IM6/IM7/IM8, the higher the number, the higher the modulus and the harder the material.

       There are many grades of carbon fiber, high modulus grade, medium modulus high strength grade, high modulus high strength grade, diameter 0.008mm to 0.01mm, tensile strength 1.72Gpa to 3.1Gpa, and modulus from 200Gpa to 600Gpa. The higher the strength, the more continuous the pull, and the lower the strength, the more it will break.

3. Carbon fiber cloth grade

          The measure is the force required to stretch the fiber to double its length, indicating the stiffness of the fiber. For example, 1 cm of 24T carbon cloth needs 24 tons of force to extend to 2 cm.

4. Types of carbon cloth

           Each tonnage of carbon distribution is divided into different grades, epoxy-coated carbon, pure carbon, high resin low carbon, low resin high carbon. At the same time, the sorting process of carbon filaments is different, the quality of carbon sand is different, and the quality will be different.

5. Carbon fiber weaving method
